How to remove ISO connector pins (automotive) ?
- Look at the ISO connector from the back-side
- Identify the cable-tied lateral side
- Insert a pin tool on the front-side of the connector to the identified lateral side and push angled so the small retaining clip gets folded away from the plastic container
- Pull the cable outside on the back-side while pushing / after pin pushed
As you can see in the pictures, the plastic container has two lateral slots for the retaining clip to grab into. Only one of these is used, depending on the way the clip was inserted. You can identify the correct side by looking from the wires side at one wire and see if the cable is more to the left or to the right in the plastic rectangle. The identified cable location is also the retaining clip side.
